“You rock, Mister Shakespeare!”
Young Agathe’s enthusiasm plunges us in Big Will’s work!

Agathe slams. In her den, surrounded by old books, her drama teacher teaches her Shakespeare. This pair of complete opposites share the same passion….words. Each one in her own way. In this short, amusing play, we discover the magic, poetry and sheer folly of Shakespeare through his heroines. Juliet, Ophelia and Rosalind all come to life, bridging the cultural and generational divide. Their lines clash… strike a chord ……the language of Shakespeare ringing so true in the mouth of the teenager as she slams.
This is an admirably directed head-to-head; set against a minimalist backdrop, with songs punctuating the different scenes and strong performances that focus on the power of the word. We are moved and surprised…we laugh a good deal and when the two women pull together and join forces, empathy triumphs.

A splendid declaration of love to theatre and literature. Sabine Lesur, Vosges matin
